It may be a nice image or detailed instructions or just some amusing stories. Anything that makes your visitor stay for more than 30 secs. Yeah, 30 secs. That’s a good starting point as the average website visit lasts more like 10 secs. Triple that and you’re at least above average.
So how does good content help you to make money online? First when a visitor discovers something useful on your site he becomes comfortable and may start looking at the site in more detail. If you’ve got some ads on your site the longer they stay the more likely they are to click on your ad. Good content also may make a visitor bookmark your site. The more they visit, the more comfortable they become. See the trend?
Good content also helps you make money online if you’ve got an email list. A website that provides some valuable information or entertainment is far more likely to have a visitor sign up for an email list as they perceive the will receive even more value from your site by signing up. Search engine technology as become more and more sophisticated and the search engines can tell from your content and your visitor’s behavior whether your site has some value to offer and create a positive experience for the search engine user. Obvious your choice of subject matter will have a significant effect on how much money you can make from your site, but any site about any subject can be easily made profitable with good content.
